The factory “Premium” sound just didn’t cut it

This Tacoma was equipped with the premium JBL sound and the sound was anything but premium.

The Vision

We wanted to upgrade the full sound system in this truck without making it visible when looking in the window. All speakers went behind the original panels and we built a custom subwoofer enclosure under the rear seat.

The Process

We used the Focal Flax three-way speaker set and ran them active powered by a Helix V Eight DSP Ulimate. There was enough room under the back seat for a shallow 10-inch Focal Flax subwoofer.  We upgraded the rear speakers with Focal Integration series 6.5 inch coaxial speakers.

The Timeline

This was a four day build followed by DSP tuning.
