Sound quality fitting for this monster of a truck
We upgraded the sound in this Raptor R with the help of BRAX, Helix, and JL Audio.
The Vision
The original B&O sound system in the truck was lackluster. We wanted to build a better sound stage and let the music engulf the cabin.
The Process
We used Helix Ci7 8-inch mid-bass drivers in the doors with the help of the Helix flex-mount speaker adapters for this Ford truck. We ran this as an active three-way speaker system with Helix Ci7 tweeters and BRAX GL2 mid range drivers in the dash. The rear doors received sound from Helix Ci3 6.5″ speakers. We went with a JL Audio Stealthbox subwoofer enclosure under the back seat with two 12TW3 subwoofers. The system was powered by a Helix V Eight DSP Ultimate and JL Audio RD1000/1 amplifiers.
The Timeline
This was a four day build followed by a DSP tuning session.
