Big Sound for this Cadillac with Atitude
We upgraded the AGK sound system in this CT5 with AudioFrog and made a custom enclosure in the trunk for some great bass.
The Vision
The overall lack of bass in this CT5 was sad. We needed to fix this but also fix the OEM tuning from the AKG system to bring the new speakers and subwoofers to life. We accomplished this with the help of a Helix DSP amplifier.
The Process
We integrated the sound with a PAC AmPRO interface and brought fiber optic from the interface directly into the Helix V Eight Ultimate DSP amplifier. We upgraded the front sound stage with AudioFrog GB60 mid-bass int he doors, GB25 mid-range speakers in the dash and center channel, and GB10 soft dome tweeters in the pillars. The rear doors used GS60 and GS10 speakers. We also upgraded the rear surround speakers with GS25 wide-band’s in the rear deck. Then we built a custom enclosure for two JL Audio 12TW3 subwoofers with a trim that looks amazing when you open the trunk.
The Timeline
This was a ten day build with custom work and DSP tuning.
