Dodge Ram
View Case StudyThe truck was lowered using a Ridetech Performance Lowering System, dropped 3 inches in the front, and 5.5 inches in the rear. It has 22 inch Vossen Wheels and Toyo Tires. Also equipped with a Retrax retractable tonneau cover. The audio was upgraded using Audiofrog GB series speakers, JL Audio subwoofers, and Mosconi amplifiers.
We wanted to upgrade the appearance of both the exterior and interior of this truck to match the performance. The exterior upgrades include lowering, wheels & tires, and a retractable tonneau conver. The interior cloth seats were converted to leather and the seat belts were changed to match the stitching in the leather seats. We also upgraded the audio system for better sound quality and output.
From an audio standpoint, we had a compatibility issue to overcome with the factory Ford stereo. The newer Ford systems are equipped with a class SB amplifier which does not play well with many aftermarket amplifiers, processors, or line adapters. We chose to use Mosconi One series amplifiers that are compatible with the class SB input signal, resulting in high quality sound input. Without a compatible amplifier like this, the audio would fully distort and damage the speakers once you turn the volume about half way up.
This was a ten day project.
