View Case StudyWe upgraded the original 8-inch motorized touch screen panel with Kenwood’s Direct Replacement 8-inch high definition media receiver screen. This upgraded the Corvette’s failing original screen with an upgrade that includes wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.
This car arrived with a failing OEM head unit. He called several shops and was getting discouraged that there was no option to replace his motorized 8-inch screen in the dash of this Corvette. Kenwood’s Direct Replacement solution to the rescue.
We disassembled the entire console of this Corvette to gain access to the screen and motorization structure in the dash. Using the iDatalink Maestro interface and mounting hardware, we were able to deliver a replacement flush mount screen that looks identical to the original, however offers upgraded sound and picture quality. This Kenwood eXcelon Reference unit supports high resolution audio, HD Front and Rear camera inputs, digital optical output for high resolution sound as well as wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
This was a one and a half day project.
